Revealing Zendaya's Romantic Spider-Man Look

Revealing Zendaya's Romantic Spider-Man Look

In recent weeks, Zendaya has been rocking an incredible series of red carpet appearances—even by her already high standards. For Zendaya's team, no detail is overlooked, especially glamour. When it comes to makeup, the star is typically "very flexible yet confident," says her hairstylist, Corey Moreno. Before a look is finalized, her team of stylists may vote on the "most striking look." Moreno transformed the actress, creating a striking hairstyle with cascading bohemian curls.

Moreno was also responsible for Zendaya's flowing, Greek goddess-inspired hair at the premiere of "The Odyssey," which contrasted sharply with the short bob she sported this summer. "My different hair colors and cuts are like markers of different periods of my life," Zendaya tells Vogue. The current period of her career is one of the busiest: she released the final season of Euphoria, starred in three major films, and, most importantly, secretly married her longtime partner and Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

"Each Spider-Man red carpet look was created differently," Moreno explains. The brief, set in London on Wednesday, was to create a nostalgic "hybrid of Victorian and Biba style—something romantic yet modern," he adds. "We started by prepping a textured U-neck wig using No98 Beauty Hydra Bond shampoo and conditioner to soften and hydrate the hair." Moreno then used the new No98 Glass Anti-Frizz Hydration cream to completely saturate the wig, followed by a generous application of Gloss Miracle Oil from the same brand. This helped keep the hairstyle in place all night. For the process, Moreno "braided the wig into about 10 large braids and let the hair dry under a hood." He explained that the hair needed to be completely dry before moving on to the final step. To complete the look, Moreno "unbraided each braid, carefully brushing each strand until it became fluffy." The same steps were applied to Zendaya's remaining strands (the front and top of her natural hair), allowing each strand to blend seamlessly into the overall look. The goal? "A casual look," Moreno concludes.

For makeup, Zendaya's longtime collaborator, Ernesto Casillas, also emphasized romance, focusing on flawless, minimalist skin, "contrasted with vibrant blush on the cheeks and soft eye makeup." Casillas brought it all to life using Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush Wand in Pillow Talk, Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara, and Easy Eyeshadow Stick in Mink Sculpt.
