The art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving is considered one of the most valuable examples of heritage that has preserved the national-cultural identity, aesthetic worldview and historical memory of our people for centuries. Azerbaijan, one of the important cultural centers of the ancient Silk Road, has gained a special place in the history of world decorative and applied arts with the rich carpet weaving schools it has formed over the centuries.
Azerbaijani carpets are not only a fine example of art, but also a unique visual language that reflects the philosophy, lifestyle, beliefs and spiritual values of the people. Ornaments and compositions created by the Karabakh, Guba, Shirvan, Tabriz, Ganja and other carpet weaving schools are today exhibited in leading museums around the world and are highly appreciated in the international art criticism environment.

The human significance of Azerbaijani carpet art was confirmed by UNESCO in 2010, and the “Azerbaijani carpet weaving art” was included in the list of cultural heritage of humanity. This type of art has developed over the centuries not only as an element of everyday life, but also as an important cultural phenomenon that transmits the history of the people, social relations, mythological ideas and symbolic thought system to future generations.
A unique art meeting and lecture on the topic of “Azerbaijani carpets”, dedicated to this rich heritage, will be held in Baku on June 6 by the "Art & Creativity Club" center with the participation of art critic Sadagat Aliyeva. At the event, participants will receive extensive information about the ornaments and secret symbols of Azerbaijani carpets, listen to the meanings of ancient patterns and their philosophical essence.

At the same time, participants will have the opportunity to read the visual language of carpets and understand the layers of meaning hidden behind the ornaments.
