Eating well isn't against the law

Eating well isn't against the law

The purest and simplest love is the love of food. Honestly speaking, everyone loves a good meal. And if this delicious experience is accompanied by a wonderful atmosphere, we also experience aesthetic pleasure. These days, restaurants, cafes, bars, and coffee shops play a significant role in our busy schedules and to-do lists. It's always nice to find yourself in a cozy cafe after a hard day at work, or just spending time with friends. Today, designers are increasingly taking bold decisions, creating interesting and striking interiors to attract customers.

So how are restaurant interiors created, and how does it affect our state of mind?

When we talk about restaurant and cafe design, we usually talk about aesthetics, comfort, beauty, and, of course, functionality. Current trends in restaurant design include creative lofts, English classics with modern accents, and unpredictable fusion with its rich colors and unusual solutions. The most important factor is the space itself, including the choice and arrangement of furniture. Every design element is crucial. Proper lighting is the key to a successful design. While subdued lighting is acceptable in bars and restaurants where it's part of the concept, it's unlikely to be used for business meetings. The color palette is an active element in the interior, as are the textiles, if any. Background music sets the tone for the entire evening and helps create the desired atmosphere. Just imagine sitting in a place where all you can hear is the banging of forks and spoons against plates. It creates the impression of a canteen and becomes downright uncomfortable. To achieve the desired atmosphere, in addition to the above factors, designers use interesting decor: they enliven the interior with paintings, chandeliers, and unusual sculptures.

Many designers already understand that people come not only for delicious food, but also for the feeling of ambiance, which they can convey on Instagram. These days, a beautiful Instagram feed is more important than ever. If you search for "Instagrammable Restaurants," you'll find a huge number of beautiful and interesting interiors.

Sketch – London, England

One of the most photogenic restaurants in London, and indeed in Europe. Sketch is a complex of several establishments, each room decorated in its own unique, eclectic style. A popular room you've likely seen more than once is "The Gallery." The architect and designer is India Mahdavi, who skillfully combines the brightest and most contrasting colors—it's no wonder she's called the "Queen of Flowers." Thus, the designer offers us the opportunity to experience a fairy tale and experience positive energy.

Beef Bar – Paris, France

The designers of this interior, Emile Humbert and Christophe Poyet, describe it as "a play between sobriety and eccentricity." To create such a rich, luxurious, yet contemporary interior, the designers used sectional arches, majolica, friezes, and marble. The finest artists and stained glass artists worked here, preserving the spirit of Art Nouveau, which can be seen on the walls and ceiling. Red velvet chairs and a monochrome rug with a branch motif add a beautiful touch and create a contrast to this space. Incidentally, this is also one of the hallmarks of Art Nouveau.

The Latitude and Longitude Bar – Baku, Azerbaijan

The interior of the new Lalo Bar lounge bar, located in the heart of the city at the Merchant Baku Hotel, offers a warm and informal atmosphere where everyone can feel right at home. The lounge's design showcases a historic and contemporary space. The layout and furniture arrangement are meticulously executed. The space is filled with warm colors and adorned with decorative elements such as modern paintings, chandeliers, heavy curtains, plants, and oriental rugs. The historic walls and arches lend a special charm to the space.

Bistro L.E.S.S. – Brugge, Belgium

The idea behind L.E.S.S.'s interior is to create a simple and uncluttered atmosphere where people can enjoy their food more and be less distracted. The space features rather rough materials, such as dark concrete, leather upholstery on the chairs, and wood. However, thanks to the natural light, the interior's clean, clean lines are truly beautiful. Lovers of elegant simplicity and minimalism will appreciate the restraint and austerity of this establishment.

Kink – Berlin, Germany

Kink is a unique venue with an unusual design approach. A neon installation sits at the very center of the establishment, serving as the primary lighting.

The dimly lit space, designed in a modern minimalist style with loft accents, invites you to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Bright sofas blend beautifully with the brick walls. This unique venue, Kink, combines a bar, restaurant, and culinary lab in a space that beautifully blends the historic building with contemporary art and design.
