When Dua Lipa gets married, you can expect more than just wedding photos. You get a full on fashion spectacle. After keeping their London civil ceremony under wraps, the singer finally gave fans a peek into her lavish wedding celebration in Sicily with husband Callum Turner.
For the main ceremony, Dua walked down the aisle in a custom Chanel Haute Couture wedding gown designed by Matthieu Blazy. This marks the first bridal creation he designed for a friend of the French fashion.
“A glimpse at Dua Lipa’s Haute Couture dress. The result of the close relationship between Dua Lipa and CHANEL, and brought to life thanks to an exceptional savoir-faire, Dua Lipa’s Haute Couture wedding dress has been handcrafted in the ateliers at 31 Rue Cambon. For this unique design, Maisons d’art Atelier Montex, Lemarié, and Lesage also contributed to the making of the dress through the creation of intricate embellishments. To complete the look, white satin pumps were custom-made by Massaro,” Chanel shared on Instagram.
“CHANEL congratulates Dua Lipa on her wedding. We are honoured to have dressed her for this very special day. This creation is the first CHANEL Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthieu Blazy for a friend of the House.n house,” it further added.
Callum complemented Dua’s fashion moments in a bespoke Louis Vuitton tuxedo designed by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams. The black single breasted wool jacket was paired with a crisp white evening shirt, while a handcrafted red peony on the lapel only added a meaningful touch as the flower symbolises love, prosperity and a happy marriage, with each petal reportedly individually hand painted.
Although the couple has kept much of the ceremony private, reports suggest the main wedding took place at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th century mansion in Sicily. Guests reportedly enjoyed traditional Sicilian cuisine like anelletti alla Norma (baked pasta), panelle (Sicilian chickpea fritters) and crocché (croquettes), as well as cassata and cannoli for dessert. Meanwhile, Elton John is said to have performed Your Song.
